Professional whale watching was established in Iceland in 1995 (www.icewhale.is). North Sailing is credited to be the first Icelandic company to organize and offer regular  whale watching tours. Owned and operated by a local family, the company has carried thousands of passengers, around the scenic waters of Skjálfandi bay, since its launch in 1995.
