For woodenboats it is crucial to get proper maintainance every year and since a couple of years NS operates the local slipway under the name "Húsavíkurslippur".  The service is available for boats up to 200 tons but usually smaller boats up to 20 tons can be hauled out of the water by a crane so mainly it is suitable for the old woodenboats like the North Sailing boats.
