Schooner Hildur back from Greenland

Schooner Hildur came to Húsavík today after a spectacular and

adventurous 10 day journey to 27.8 Hildur og skriðjökull frammí sjóGreenland. The trip was a huge success

and crew members were truly grateful to have had the oportunity to experience the extreme beauty of Scoresbysund and surroundings.

ÍsjakarWe just got word from Captain Heimir on the Greenland expedition of Hildur. They have after less than 48 hours sailing reached Scoresbysund on the east coast of Greenland.

A rainy tour to beautiful Flatey

Mærudagar starting!

Gamli BaukurThe annual town festival, Mærudagar, starts this Thursday the 22nd of July.  In Húsavík, the word "mæra," the first half of the local festivals name, means sweets or candy.  Thus, the festival might be called "Candy days" in English.
