Humpbacks in main role - Pilot whales spotted.

The last few days have been more or less just fantastic out on the bay with huge humpback whales lifting their tails high up in the air.

Not only have humpbacks been spotted as captain Hrólfur spotted a group of Pilot whales rushing around the bay this morning. Thei are hard to observe and no pictures were taken this time.

The following pictures however were taken by Heimir Harðarson a couple of days ago in the calm late-summer weather out on Skjálfandi bay.

The fluke of the humpback, and especially this one, is huge.

Náttfari with almost 90 happy whale watchers wathing this spectacular animal.

Stunned Americans on board Náttfari - are they watching Americas next top model or what?
