Humpback Whale in heavy morning exercises.

Yesterday morning the passengers of North-sailing found an extremely cheery Humpback whale exercising and warming up for the day. As if jumping and drying himself completely in the morning breeze wasn´t enough he also showed off his fluke and flippers a lot for the lucky audience.

It is not an everyday event we get so lucky to witness such spectacular exercises and even rarer in those great weather conditions Skjalfandi bay had to offer yesterday morning.

We have found a lot of Minke whales for the last few days in the bay, up to seven animals in the same trip, which is very pleasant because they have not been a very common sight this summer.

Following pictures of the Humpbacks’exercises were taken by Himmi, one of the North-sailing guides.
