The first official “Swedish Days” festival took place in Husavik last week and judging by peoples reaction, this festival is here to stay and will be continued annually around the Mid-Summer Festival (24th June).
One of the highlights of the festival was a historic cruse to Nattfaravikur. North Sailing and Restaurant Salka invited the inhabitants of Husavik and visitors to sail across the bay in the “footsteps” of Nattfari, Iceland’s first Nordic settler.
Around 70 people joined the trip and when they arrived in Nattfaravik, a mouth-watering BBQ dinner waited, that the chefs from Restaurant Salka had prepared for the visitors.

On the beach a fire warmed the newly arrived group.


When everyone had been feed and had a time to relax and look around the passengers were transferred back to the boats.
