Maintenance in a mild climate

Although North Sailing´s boats have been docked for the winter, the company´s staff has been busy preparing for the winter.
The weather is nice in Húsavík on the first day of November, 7°C and light sout winds. Therefore, Sigurbjörn Sörensson and the brothers, Hreiðar Olgeirsson and Skarphéðinn Olgeirsson, were busy with maintenance of Gamli Baukur, North Sailing´s restaurant and headquarters. The walls on the outside are made of drift wood and every year, need to be painted with special oil to keep them from drying.

For the past weeks, the boats have been prepared for the winter were they will lie at the dock in Húsavík for the most part. Some further restoration is intended in some of the boats, e.g. decoration of the fishing hold in Bjössi Sör, the most recent boat of the North Sailing fleet.
