Two dozens feeding minkes!

The conditions for the minke whales seem to be improving day by day and today a dozen or two of feeding minke whales could be seen in Skjálfandi bay.

A humpback whale and some dolphins also played their part of the show and passengers disembarked North Sailing´s boats happy with their tour, dispite some rain showers, especially before and around noon.

Folloving pictures were taken by Náttfari´s captain.

The minke whale comes up on it´s side and swallows a huge amount of sea-water together with, krill, plankton and other seafood.

Some of the 560 baleen plates that the minke whale has hanging down from it´s upper jaw can be spotted on this picture.
