North Sailing News

July 8th 2004

Humpbacks, Blue Whales, Minkes & Dolpins.

4 species of whales have been spotted in most of North Sailing tours the last 4 days. Some of the trips have been a little longer than the usual 3 hours but the number of boats has enabled North Sailing to reach the blue whale areas that are about 12 nautical miles away from Husavik by overlapping the next trips; still being able to take another boat out to the bay right on time.

The number of people going whale watching in Husavik increases day by day and yesterday almost 500 people enjoyed the whales from North Sailing´s boats. The great capacity of the 4 boats (almost one thousand pax. per day) makes it sure that everyone is comfortably accommodated on board.

North Sailing´s passengers have been thrilled over the time spent in the vicinity of Blue Whales, Humpbacks, minkes & dolphins.

The whale watching pier is located right in front of the famous waterfront restaurant, Gamli Baukur.
