Blue´s festival on Skjálfandi bay

There has been a great amount of blue whales in Skjálfandi bay the last two weeks and up to 10 Blue whales have been spotted in each trip. On one occasion 6 humpbacks were seen together with all these blue whales. Dolphins have been seen in most of the trips too and to add to the great sighting rate, the crew of Náttfari spotted a fin whale yesterday. The fin whale is the second largest animal on the planet, after the blue whale. For detailed information about these species, please look at “Whales of Skjálfandi” on the left banner of the page.

Pictures will be shown here soon.
