Mother and a calf

A rare sight was seen yesterday when we spotted a mother Minke with a small calf alongside her. The calf was very curious and came pretty close to our boat, but the mother was very awake and protective and always placed herself between the calf and the boat. We didn´t want to disturb them for too long, so when all the passengers had had a good look, we sailed away and left them two alone, but hopefully we will see the young calf and its mother soon again.

Minkes were playing the main role in the whale watching tours yesterday as six Minkes was spotted. We also found one Humpback whale in the morning tour.
