Plenty of whales in Skjálfandi Bay

For the last few days there has been a lot of whales inside Skjálfandi Bay. We have spotted Dolphins, Minkes, a lot of Humpbacks and Blue whales. The weather has also been good and the weather forecast for the week is great.

Annual Húsavík festival will start today and goes on until next Sunday. Húsavík festival includes both Swedish days, that will officially open at 17:00 today and Sweet days (Mærudagar) that will open officially next Thursday. North Sailing will offer two tours, free of charge, during Húsavík festival. The first one is adventure cruise to Náttfaravíkur, located in the mountains of Kinn opposite to Húsavík and the other one is a midnight sunset sailing. For more information please contact North Sailings ticket office.

So there will be a lot of things going on here in Húsavík this week. We will of course sail out in search of the whales all week and before and after a whale watching tour you can blend in with the locals here down at the harbour were most of the goings-on will take place during Húsavík festival. You can see the program for the festival by clicking here.
