Good beginning for our newest guide

It was my first day this season and it gave a great promise for the summer. The weather was decent at 10 o‘clock when we departed our first trip, cloudy but mild. The wind picked up at around 11 and it

looked like it would be just like the few days before which have been quite windy but 30 minutes later the sky cleared and the wind lowered and now at 17:30 the weather is fabulous, 15° celcius and sunny.

Both trips were successful whale wise and we spotted at least three species, the humpback whale, some white beaked dolphins and couple of harbour porpoises. The puffins are growing in numbers and the Puffin island was looking fantastic in the sunlight this afternoon.

One of our newcomer, Halla Marín, came with us on the first trip for her training and will be a great injection for our already massive team of guides. Along with me, Halla  and Hrólfur the captain came Christian the 1´st from the Whale museum. He also sailed with Þórdís and Hrólfur yesterday and the pictures here below are his from that trip, a humpback raising its tail fluke before going down for a deep dive, a sight that is getting more and more common in Skjálfandi bay.

This is going to be a good summer.
