Dagmar Aaen in Húsavík

Good friends are in port.  Dagmar Aaen with captain Arved Fuchs and his crew is spending about two weeks in Húsavík this year. For the second year Arved holds his Ice-Climate-Education youth camp in Húsavík. In the camp 14 students from 7 countries are lectured about climate changes, take tours in and around Húsavík, both on sea and on land.

The kutter Dagmar Aaen is however on a longer route this time and when leaving Húsavík she has one year ahead sailing along the west coast of Greenland where she will over-winter in pack ice over the winter. The theme of this expedition is the Greely-Expedition from 1881-84.

While Dagmar Aaen lies in Húsavík, the crew works on various things onboard and enjoys long summer days in Húsavík and surrounding, including the Skjálfandi Bay.
