Andvari

Andvari was constructed in Akureyri in 1975 and is North Sailing’s 10th renovated oak boat. The name was founded in competition held by the company when North Sailing invited people to send in their ideas of a name for the boat and the winners got instead free week-long adventure aboard one of our schooners in Greenland. Andvari, an old Norse name, means “a gentle breeze that glides silently through the air” and fits perfectly as Andvari is the second silent electric boat of the family along with Opal and is ready to sail silently with passengers into the whale watching adventures of the day.
