A beautiful late-summer feast

This past weekend out on Skjálfandi bay was absolutely amazing!

In our 10:00 clock tour on Saturday, me, captain Hrólfur and deckhand Kormákur went out with fully loaded Bjössi Sör and were amazed by the lively Skjálfandi! After taking a look at two humpbacks  and not less than five minke whales we headed back to the harbour in a fantastic scenery! With the sea completely smooth and calm wind, the crew and the passengers surely appreciated the sun shining and the quite unexpected 'late summer´s' 18°C.

A humpback whale´s flippers can be around 4-6 meters long!

In our Sunday tour, along with the humpbacks and minkes, a school of around 50 white beaked dolphins was added to our logbook. Mothers and calves swimming along side our boat, jumping and playing all around us.

As said, an absolutely amazing weekend! And the season is far from over!
