Joining a big meeting
Today the sun was hidden behind the clouds but the sea was as flat as a mirror – best conditions for whale watching!
On our first tour in the morning it took us some time to find the whales: they were much further southwest than in the previous days. But as soon as we spotted them, it was hard to decide where to head first. We saw at least six or seven humpback whales! They surfaced all around us and since the surface of the sea was so calm, the black backs were clearly visible.
We got some very close encounters with the humpback whales. They were very relaxed and spent much time at the surface and through the silence we heard their powerful breath. Whales empty and refill their lungs within seconds, which is clearly audible! Once again we had a fantastic day!
