Black Guillemot (Cepphus grylle)

Black Guillemot nests behind rocks on rocky coasts and are distributed all over Iceland where suitable habitat is found. It stays closer to the coast than other auks and feeds on fish and invertebrates.

Black Guillemots are common at Skjálfandi bay the whole year around.
