The Reykjavik office
This summer, North Sailing opened a branch office in the heart of Reykjavík, Austurstræti 17.
The webpage’s newsmonger dropped by to visit the head of the office, Birna Lind Björnsdóttir Sales and Marketing Manager.
Birna started working for North Sailing on June 1st, 2010 and has since handled sales and marketing for the company.
The newswriter is in his nature a curious man and longed to know a bit about the person, Birna.
Birna was born in Akureyri but moved with her parents to Luxembourg at the age of three and didn’t return to Iceland to live until 25 years later.
It’s now 15 years since she returned to Iceland. She lives in Kópavogur with her family.
Her interest in tourism started at an early stage and she has since worked various jobs in the travel industry.
Birna graduated from Menntaskólinn in Kópavogur as an expert in Travel marketing and is also a Travel Consultant from Ferðamálaskóli Íslands. In addition she fluently speaks and writes 6 languages.
Birna claims though that the school of life teaches her the most and she is lucky enough to work within her main interest i.e. marketing Iceland.
Last summer Birna spent a lot of time in Húsavík and thinks the town a lovely place. She also claims that she received a warm welcome from everyone she met.
The Reykjavík office is warm and bright and Birna decorated and designed it herself. When the newsman stopped by it was extremely cold outside and Birna’s coffe, in this cozy office, was indeed delightful.
And of course the oppurtunity was used to take a few photos.
