Autumn approaching but still whales in the bay.
– William Shakespeare –
You can tell these days that autumn is fast approaching, many birds like the birds Arctic Tern and the Puffin have already left. Yet this time of the year has a certain beauty to it especially in the evening. An august evening in Iceland is pretty special and the light is different than at other times of the year. It’s like you can feel that summer and autumn are merging.
Thankfully the whales are still here and we know that some of them will actually stay all winter. Today we were so lucky to find 5 Humpback Whales swimming slowly and making short, shallow dives. We therefore managed to see them very well and often.
The weather was absolutely wonderful with a nice southern breeze.
