As the 2023 whale watching season approaches, we’re delighted to announce that North Sailing will be offering a large variety of tours to suit every type of traveller. You can jump on board traditional sailing boats, eco-friendly silent electric boats or traditional wooden oak vessels and explore all the wonders of Skjálfandi Bay, including Puffin island. Also, you can take an active part and assist the crew to hoist the sails or gain deeper insights into marine conservation on tours with Ocean Missions.
All tours offer great chances to see whales and other wildlife in their natural habitat, but each type offers a unique adventure. Our knowledgeable guides will provide insightful commentary about the whales and their behaviour, making every tour an educational experience.
Species to see in Húsavík
Some of the most popular whale species that can be spotted in Húsavík include humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins and even the mighty blue whales. Yet, every tour is different and especially the beginning of the season can be full of surprising encounters.
